Who is like God
Thursday 14 May 2020

Dear Parishioners and Friends of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish at Terrigal,

God is good, with great pleasure I am announcing to you that the Most Rev Anthony Randazzo, Bishop of Broken Bay, revoke from 15 May 2020, the Decree issued on 18 March 2020 suspending all public Masses in the Diocese of Broken Bay.  This means the following:

Churches are able to be open for private prayer, with a limit of 10 people in the church at any one time.

Religious gatherings, either formal or informal, are permissible inside churches for groups not more than 10 people.

The names of each person at the gathering must be recorded.

Weddings may be permitted for a group of 10 people.  Further clarification received from the NSW Premier’s Office has been received advising that the couple and the celebrant are not part of the group of 10 people.  Therefore it is permissible for a wedding to include the celebrant, the couple and 10 guests

Funerals may be permitted for groups of 20 people indoors and for 30 people outside, practising social distancing of 4 square metres per person and hand hygiene through the ready use of sanitiser at church entrances.

The Sacrament of Baptisms may be celebrated with greater capacity, as up to 10 people may participate in the celebration of the Rite.

We need to continue to have only one family present at a celebration of the Rite each time.

HERE AT OUR LADY STAR OF THE SEA PARISH TERRIGAL - PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL NEED TO RING THE PARISH OFFICE TO REGISTER (Book in) for MASS – ONLY 10 plus Fr Pawel will be able to be in the church. You will also be required to sign in as you come in to the Church for Mass.  We have been asked to do this as a  part of the government’s strategy of tracking and tracing so that should someone become infected with the COVID19 virus it is possible to locate those with whom they have been in contact.

Morning Mass will continue at 8.30 am Tuesday to Saturday with live streaming (you will be notified when the Mass will revert back  to 7.30am).

WEEKEND MASSES: Will revert back to the normal times VIGIL 5pm       Sunday: 7am   8:30am   10:00am
If you are a reader or server please let us know if you would like to assist. (of course pending numbers on the day).
RECONCILIATION WILL BE AVAILABLE AFTER SATURDAY MORNING MASS. (or by appointment). This is a challenge for each of us. We rejoice in every step closer to the time we can fill our churches again.
God Bless you Fr Pawel

Dear Parishioners, It is difficult for all of us not to be able to come together for our weekly Masses. We are all praying that this will be for the short term. Many of you have asked how you can make your usual contribution as you are obviously aware that parish expenses, as well as the support of our priests, are ongoing necessities. Thank you kindly for your forethought in this matter. By pressing the Donate button below you can make your contribution online. Fr Pawel & the Parish Finance Committee.
